Keep learning

Make your professional development visible.

A clear record helps you find completed courses and points and demonstrate your professional competence.

We are regularly asked whether it is mandatory or advisable to collect accreditation points. Collecting points is not mandatory for everyone. Organisations other than professional associations may also award accreditation points.

What do you need to demonstrate?

You and your employer or client need to be able to show that you have mastered the knowledge, skills and materials used to provide care. Supervisory bodies may ask to see a paper or digital portfolio.

This is consistent with the Covenant for Safe Application of Medical Technology, which applies to healthcare employees. The Covenant emphasises that users must be sufficiently competent and able to demonstrate this.

Keep track of your progress

A personal accreditation dossier brings completed courses, certificates and related points together. This makes it easier to track your development and see when additional training may be needed.

Requirements can vary by profession, employer and procedure. Ask your employer which training and evidence are relevant to your role.
